“I would like to tell the community that I am here to give the best care that I can because I am from Northern Mississippi and will treat you like family. I want to get you back to feeling normal and well when you have a surgical problem.”

Dr. George Wilson, D.O.

George Wilson, D.O.

Growing up in the Mississippi Delta, Dr. George Wilson was inspired to become a doctor through seeing firsthand the critical need for healthcare providers in the state. He attended the University of Mississippi for undergraduate studies and University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS for a master's degree. Dr. Wilson earned his medical degree from William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed a general surgery residency at Charleston Area Medical Center through West Virginia University School of Medicine.

While farming as a child, Dr. Wilson learned he enjoyed working with his hands, which led to pursuing a career in a specialty that is hands-on and technically challenging. With passion and a commitment to helping his community, he provides minimally invasive surgery through robotics for procedures such as colon resections, hernia repairs, and other abdominal pathology including gallbladders, appendixes, and bowel obstructions. Additionally, Dr. Wilson performs thyroid and parathyroid surgery, breast surgery, removal of skin lesions, and open hernia repairs, including complex abdominal wall reconstruction, open abdominal surgery, and traumatic injury care.

Dr. Wilson is excited to offer excellent surgical care to the residents of North Mississippi. He is pleased to be closer to family, live in a family-centered community, and be able to attend Ole Miss games.
